Overinvesting at the firm

Walking to work

I must say it is nice to have the option to walk to work sometimes. Sigh. City living. Of course if I actually lived here I wouldn't be able to afford living here so in reality there's no difference.

One of the few perks of being a consultant is staying at nice hotels and having platinum status. Pretty nice view of union sq park. Btw, weather sucks in SF while it's sunny in Seattle.

Choosing a "home"

Yesterday we went to check out a few open houses with her bro and his wife. They're looking to move noth of Seattle where this big mall is and it's actually a decentlu convenient neighbourhood, although a little challenging for her to get to school. although they were mostly looking at condos, we happened to check out these houses that were just really nice. I don't know if it's because prices have come down, or because this area is a bit farther north than where we were looking, but the prices were pretty reasonable and the place is nice.

Made me think of 2 things. Firstly it's pretty amazing the trade-off between location and quality you can get for the same price. Secondly, it's a little sad that I probably will never end up in a big house like the one we saw moving to Asia. I'll probably end up in a nice apartment but the sheer amount of space is quite amazing.

I'm pretty surprised it got such bad reviews since it was a pretty good movie, albeit the whole time I was teary-eyed. It is sad though when the one love dies and it seems pretty cruel to continuing to remind the person still alive of you...

I hope I'll be reminded as fondly when I pass away. :)

Technical progress

Now that I can blog from my phone, I find it extremely hard to spend blog while I'm in front of my computer. Maybe it's because whenever I'm in front of my computer I'm working. I find I never really spend any time on my computer just for fun now. Strange.
