Vegas hotel in Shenzhen

The Intercontinental in Shenzhen is pretty ridiculous. Monstrously huge like a Vegas hotel with fountains and stuff everywhere. Super random.

China airlines

Surprisingly spacious. Same as US airlines. Boarding is mad dash to front of the line though. :)

Cheap

$1.50 cab ride

$1.50 lunch with rice, 2 dishes with meat and soup. Of course at client cafe so probably sibsidized but still.

Arrived in Shanghai

Just arrived. Weather is like Seattle - rainy but with the added bonus of being muggy too. Took a while to find the driver. For a second there I thought I would have to figure out how to get somewhere myself, like normal people do. :P. Spoilt consultant.

2 hour car ride to Hangzhou and this driver guy is getting gas. First time being chaffeured and getting gas. Very strange.

Airports are so ridiculous

Just needed to go from the domestic terminal to the international terminal at SFO and it was an ordeal. Used to be albe to walk over (which was really more a trek than a walk). Now, probably because of construction or something, we have to wait in line to walk down a flight of stairs to take this 24 passenger van. On the other side there is one elevator that fits like 12 people. In between you get herded by like 6 or 7 workers, which in itself seems crazy.

The inefficiency is ridiculous.
